Probabilities and the Law of Attraction

By Stephen Proskauer MD | January 15, 2008

When we follow the principles set forth in such sources as The Secret, hoping to have our desires become reality by manifesting our intentions as thoughtforms and visualizations, it is easy to fall into a conventional cause and effect mindset about the effort.  Then we can feel like we failed if what we envisioned doesn’t come to pass.  We need to remember that the quantum field of probabilities is what thoughtforms are believed to influence, not simple cause and effect. All of reality, not just our thinking alone, affects the quantum field.  As my father used to say, “The only true cause of anything is everything.”  So, if we can bring about even a tiny shift in the probability for peace and harmony to prevail, we have done a lot to benefit the world.  And if the greater good is going to be served by our desires manifesting, then other forces besides our will or intention will also be influencing the quantum field probabilities in the same direction.  A little humility is realistic and beneficial when we apply the Law of Attraction.  Miracles are possible when there is a convergence of influence on the quantum field.  It isn’t all up to us, and, we are all responsible for everything.
