How Birth Experiences Mold Personality Traits

The passage down the birth canal can sometimes be smooth and easy, but all too frequently it is a life and death struggle for survival. The details of this ordeal affect future personality and relationship patterns in specific ways. For instance, forceps extraction activates control issues and resentment at being dominated by others, while Caesarean section is associated with avoidance of struggle in later life with unconscious expectation of being rescued from difficult situations at the last moment by outside intervention.
