A Lifelong Pattern Arising from an Infant Memory

By Stephen Proskauer MD | October 7, 2009

Judy recalled the experience of severe respiratory distress with a collapsed lung at age six months. In her session, she found herself speaking the words of a frightened nurse taking care of her, “She’ll die if she doesn’t hold still and stop crying.” Judy’s lifelong pattern of constricted breathing, withholding feelings and restricting her body movements was related to this brief episode from infancy. The pattern began to dissolve after she recalled the incident in her Karmic Therapy session.
