Increased Vulnerability
By Stephen Proskauer MD | December 24, 2009
In general, we are unable or unwilling to deal directly with a difficult situation when we feel physically and/or emotionally overwhelmed by it and there is insufficient support available to integrate its impact upon us. There are particular times of increased vulnerability—such as during birth and early childhood, serious illness or injury, and during the process of dying—when it is especially hard to face and integrate experiences of pain and fear aroused by our circumstances. These are the times when frozen karmic patterns are most likely to be laid down.
