Spiritual Partnership

Most human relationships are entered into through mutual desire for need gratification and ego aggrandizement. The karmic learning process hinges upon the gradual subsuming of selfish desires into selfless love for the well-being of the other.
True spiritual partnership has a different basis from the unresolved karma that attracts partners to one another in codependent and desire- bound relationships. Only at the point in karmic evolution when love has grown stronger than ego does spiritual partnership become a possibility. When selfless love motivates a relationship, individuals begin to place the well-being and spiritual needs of others above selfish desire for one idealized person.
