Conception, Prenatal Experience and Adult Relationships

The emotional climate of interaction between parents at the time of conception seems to set the pattern for intimacy in later life, especially intimacy between lovers and marriage partners. Mother’s issues while we are in the womb can also have a profound influence on our ways of experiencing intimate relationship, marriage, separation and divorce. Patterns of codependency, for instance, can usually be traced back to the prenatal period.
